Overview

Friends combines the AI companion idea with lightweight habit and social mechanics. Official store copy describes it as a place to raise AI companions that learn from your routines and interactions over time, with a product loop built around focus, self-care, connection, and shared moments. The brand framing is softer and more social than romance-driven AI chat products, making it a better fit for users who want a cute, routine-oriented companion experience instead of a text-heavy roleplay engine.

Key Benefits

Companions that evolve with your habits

Official listings emphasize that the AI companions learn from routine and interaction over time, giving the product a more persistent feel than novelty chat apps.

A gentler, more social companion category entry

Friends targets focus, self-care, and connection through cute virtual companions rather than therapy claims or explicit romantic framing.

Who This Is For

Users building soft daily routines

Profile: People who want a lightweight AI companion that makes self-care, focus, and connection feel more playful.
Benefits: Friends uses evolving companions and small social loops instead of relying on intense or adult chat.
Considerations: Users wanting deep open-ended conversation may find it more routine-oriented and pet-like than expressive companion apps.

Pairs or friends who want a shared companion experience

Profile: Users interested in growing AI companions together or sharing moments with friends through the app.
Benefits: The product is explicitly social by design, which helps it stand apart from one-to-one solo AI chat apps.
Considerations: The shared-ritual format may be less appealing if someone wants a highly private, introspective companion.

As of right now, it's really cute and fun. I'm enjoying it a lot with my girlfriend, soon to be wife. I do run into issues where the bar of love or hungry don't go down until I leave it open for about 20 ish minutes which is a worrisome time. But otherwise, I'm not running into any really bad issues besides ads popping up.

ads. i've had this happen for about 2 years now and the amount of ads i get every time i open the app is absurd. this was not a problem when i got the app to begin with but it has become a huge problem in the last 2-3 months. why should i have to pay for no ads on a game that didn't have ads to start off with. definitely a cash grab.
